Week 9

Furthermore, my supervisor had assigned me to find some information regarding about how long does the the government will return the special refund on the sales tax of 10% to us. However, this special refund will only applies to the business who are from the manufacturing industry only. Therefore, I have found out that our government will return the balance of the special refund amount subsequently on a quaterly basis. In other words, it means that we will receive the special refund in every three months time. Moreover, there will be a further deductions may be made if there was found to be any further unpaid taxes and penalties. However, my supervisor had advised me that the information that I gathered is not so detail. Therefore, I have done some additional reseach and I have found out some additional information such as the taxable period for the special refund will only lasts for two years. At this time, I have learnt that I need to double check my work before I submit to my supervisor. In the future, I hope that I will not make the same mistakes again and ensure that I have included all the relevant informtion into the report.

In addition, I will also need to check the suppliers' statement for the month of February by using the same procedures as I learned in week 2. However, my colleague had told me that the suppliers' statement that I checked for the last few times have some mistakes. Therefore, she had taught me the correct format to write down the cheque number and the date we paid the supplier on the statement when the SQL accounting software shows that we have make the payment to them.

Besides, my supervisor had also assigned me to key in the data for the number of tankers that we have sold for the last two years into the Microsoft Excel. The main objective of recording these data is because of our company's director would like to compare the number of units of tankers they have sold between the last two years. In addition, I have also suggested some recommendations on the ways to improve the sales of our company to my supervisor too. However, I have also faced a problem in keying the unit of measure for the tanker's specifications as I do not understand the unit of measure for the oil tankers. Therefore, I have asked my colleague to give me some brief explaination on the unit of measure of a tanker. Furthermore, I had also done some additional research online based on the explanation and I found out that the unit of measure for a tanker is kiloliter (kl). In short, it means that 1 kl is equivalent to 1000 liters. Besides, I have also learnt some problem solving skills by observing on how my supervisor gave the advice to the sales team regarding about their job performance.
